> One thing I learned from presenting this year is that giving your talk on the first day of the conference has a big advantage.

My first conference as a presenter in June 2004 in Paris, France. I was scheduled 1st day, 1st session. And then my flight got delayed by >24 hours due to weather issues at Dallas. I reached the conference venue all disheveled, with all luggage... 20 mins before my talk (session had already started). My advisor gave a look which said, "Where on earth did you turn up from?"

That's a good counterexample of "giving your talk on the first day of the conference has a big advantage" ...😅

Loved your paper! I don’t know if you have seen the launch of the Ropet? It really shows cases your research about how the physical appearance matters in robots. Great article!

I was unaware about Ropet, and just searched and saw the Kickstarter page (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1067657324/ropet-your-next-generation-ai-robot-pet). It seems a solid campaign, and I think it will get good traction if they can get their act together. I don't like the ChatGPT integration... why should I pay OpenAI when there are plenty of options available. And seems no programming capability or SDK. But may be a good desktop robot to get for entertainment.

I agree. I saved my money for this project instead. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/mini-moe-your-powerful-pocket-sized-ai-robot-pal#/

I just googled to learn about it. I like the Ropet's expressive eyes!
