Petoi AI Vision Module
This programmable vision module gives you the opportunity to learn Computer Vision with your Bittle robot
Petoi has integrated a camera and a compatible dual-core ARM Cortex-M55 and ARM Ethos-U55 neural network unit in its AI Vision module. This module connects to the Bittle BiBoard via the Grove socket. You can find the detailed spec sheet at Petoi’s website, but notably, the module does object detection, gesture detection, and face detection using the YOLOv8 algorithm. It fearures a 5 MegaPixel camera, and a microphone (which I have to still learn how to use). I have been working with this module over the last two weeks, and today’s post is a preliminary post.
Using the AI Vision Module
The first step is to attach the module to the Bittle X + ARM and connect it the the BiBoard Grove socket. (You could attach the module to any Bittle robot by having Bittle’s mouth grip the module, but the Bittle X ARM holds the vision module nicely and tightly, and prevents the module from moving). Although Petoi’s documentation mentions that the module must be connected to the 2nd Grove socket on BiBoar…
