About 10 months ago, Vector robot’s source code got completely leaked and got hosted by Wire (the architect and lead developer for Wirepod) at this github. Since then, there has been a lot of activity building new images for Vector. Wire built WireOS as a nice stable open source image for Vector. Another cool image is Viccyware, which tries to run Cozmo’s animations on the Vector robot. So if you are someone who liked Cozmo’s animations, and miss them on Vector, Viccyware is the right image for you.

It used to be that these customized images could only be installed on a Open Source Kit for Robots (OSKR) or Dev Vector robot. But, a few months back, the secret keys preventing unlocking of a production Vector robot got cracked, and so you can now unlock any production Vector robot you have. The steps are documented here.
